Bay Meadows Real Estate
Welcome to Virginia's Northern Neck, an area rich in history, culture, and waterfront life. Lancaster and Northumberland Counties anchor the eastern end of the Neck bounded by the Potomac River to the north, the Rappahannock River to the south, and the beautiful Chesapeake Bay on the east. The area is still a well kept secret, on the verge of full discovery by the boomer generation as a great place to live, vacation and retire. We are blessed with the quiet calm of rural living, yet have many of the amenities of any large and prospering community. Recreation opportunities abound especially for those who enjoy the great outdoors - golfing, fishing, boating, and hunting. Try our hand a traveling the hundreds of miles of creeks and tidal rivers that make the Northern Neck on of the water wonderlands on the east coast. If history is your fascination, visit the many museums that are resident in the Northern Neck. Besides 5 area museums working to preserve turn of the century culture, life and history, we have the working museums of the George Washington National Birth Place and Stratford Hall, birth place of Robert E. Lee. Several of the leading members of colonial America and the Revolution had their homes here including Charles Lee. Maybe you enjoy a good meal and a fine bottle of wine. Nothing beats our Oysterfests held through out the year by many different organizations featuring oysters, of course, raw, roasted, fried, smoked, steamed, in fritters or in a stew. Fine wine to compliment that meal may be acquired from the region’s various vineyards, which offer many wine tasting and other activities during the year.
